I got to chat with a colleague of mine who is now living in the US. For months of living with her husband, she has yet to see improvements in the unemployment overseas. It really is everywhere... It's really saddening to hear. And here I am in a third-world country thinking "how could it get any better here?".
Her current job isn't that exciting, as a matter of fact, she doesn't consider it a job. It doesn't pay that well, but what can she do? She's been trying to get back into a job in her industry (IT) but it's already been over a year, and still no success.
We're all having the same problems wherever.. the scary part about this all is the answer to the question "Will the world economy ever recover from the turmoil brought about by the global financial crisis?". Non-surprisingly, my colleague and I had a similar answer.
While I believe in the passage "Time will tell" -- if you already knew what it was going to tell you, and you don't like it -- what can you do?

Late Shopfitting
I can't believe it took me mid-April to finally move my fingers to set-up 2009's UWC blog. Honestly, there was a point months ago that I felt like totally discontinuing this; However I finally realized that I really still wanted to write.
I just fell into a stump.. A really big one.
And so, I welcome you all to a (late) year of thoughts - in the form of Bitter Flavor - this year's overall theme for Urban Warrior Cybercafe.
